What is Bowl for Kids’ Sake?
Bowl for Kids’ Sake is an annual countywide bowl-a-thon benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County. This year, we expect approximately 1,000 bowlers, 10,000 pledge sponsors, and over 50 local companies to participate in the event. Bowl for Kids’ Sake provides critical funding for the agency by bringing in over 25 percent of the annual budget. All proceeds raised from the event directly support Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mentoring programs in Santa Cruz County.
How does Bowl for Kids’ Sake help kids in our community?
Through the generous donations of time and resources from our Bowl for Kids’ Sake bowlers and sponsors, Big Brothers Big Sisters can continue to carefully match quality volunteer mentors with our waiting Littles, provide consistent match support, and reach more children in our community who want and need a friend.
When and where is Bowl for Kids’ Sake?
The fundraiser will be held Saturday April 25th at the Boardwalk Bowl and Sunday April 26th, 2009 at the Watsonville Cabrillo Lanes. But our bowlers will be out collecting pledges the weeks and months before the event.
How can I participate?
You can sign up as a bowler on a team, form a team as team captain, or become a sponsor (or all three!), and you’ll help raise funds and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mentoring programs. …but what if I’m not a very good bowler?
It doesn’t matter if you’re a good bowler or if you get a high score…what matters is that you have fun while supporting kids in our community! And for that extra bit of help, all bowling scores less than 100 will be raised to 100 points.
